We’ve created a company where you can have the intensity, fun, and energy of a hot startup, the impact on the world of an effective nonprofit, and the benefits of a family-friendly lifestyle.

Some places have great missions that are creating a real impact.

There are some amazing nonprofits out there doing meaningful, important work. But by the nature of the worlds they operate in, they’re often slow and bureaucratic — or they don’t have the resources to do the job.

There are a lot of places where you can find intensity.

Hot startups and understaffed nonprofits are great places to find intensity. Long hours, high stress, and all for the hope of that big payoff in the end. It can be fun, but you can’t do it forever.

And some places offer a great lifestyle.

Whether that means hitting the door after a slow day of effortless work, ridiculous benefits, or some other crazy perk — you can find that. Sometimes it’s at super rich corporations, but that work is rarely interesting or meaningful.

But at GasPedal, you get it all. It’s an incredibly rare combination.

Mission + Intensity + Lifestyle

Running great communities is an incredibly meaningful profession that has a tangible, positive impact on the world.

Helping people who are doing something big and meaningful in a large organization is a powerful thing. Alone, if they’re lucky, they can make some progress.

But surround them with people just like them, with problems just like theirs, at organizations a lot like theirs? Amazing things happen.

You get to witness it every day.

It’s also intense.

Anyone can start a peer-to-peer community. We are committed to running the best.

We’re constantly pushing ourselves to get better. We study the industries our communities serve — which are always changing. When we can’t find the tool we need to deliver the type of member service we want, we build our own. We create processes, and then we refine them a little bit over a long period of time — until it’s pretty much perfect. Then we do it some more.

There’s never a boring minute at GasPedal. The days fly by, there’s non-stop interaction and collaboration. We often forget to eat. It’s exhilarating. Then you walk out the door knowing you put in an amazing day’s work — that you left it all on the field.

And the payoff is a great work lifestyle.

At the end of the day, we go home, on time, to our personal lives and families.

Putting in intense days means we don’t need to work nights and weekends. We pick up the kids after school, have hobbies and personal lives, and take a surprising amount of time off — you know, normal stuff that is becoming increasingly rare in most workplace cultures.

(To be clear, a great work lifestyle isn’t a perk, it’s the payoff for the intensity at which we operate.)
