Word of Mouth Tip #92: Use offline opportunities to tell fans how to follow you online

February 22, 2010

When trying to earn online followers, don’t forget about all the offline chances to tell fans where to find you.

In your store, your trade show booth, your business cards, or your invoices: Let them know where to find you on Facebook, let them know how to follow you on Twitter, and make it easy for them to subscribe to your newsletter.

How a word of mouth supergenius does it:

The U.S. Navy — Social Media Business Council member and recent BlogWell host — is serious about social media (check out the live coverage of their presentation last week).

BlogWell attendees were especially impressed with the F/A-18 fighter jet in the conference parking lot — and check out the brilliant placement of the @flynavy sticker! (Photo by U.S. Navy.)
